Red Rocks 2018
My wife (then girlfriend) surprised me with a trip to Colorado for my birthday. We flew from Mass and rented a car. The purpose was to see Dispatch at Red Rocks but since we had gone all that way, she had a plan to see some sights. We drove through the Rocky Mountains out to Steamboat Springs. Spent a couple nights there and drove back to Denver. Being the amazing travel planner she is, we headed to the Thirsty Lion. She had got us tickets for a bus ride to the Red Rocks amphitheater, with other excited Dispatch fans. It had been raining all day and we were okay with getting wet to see our favorite band at such an amazing venue. Because of the rain we chose to get shelter in the Red Rocks Trading Post. Which come to find out was a museum and the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. I learned a lot about such a legendary venue. If it wasn’t for that rain I wouldn’t have seen the amazing statue of John Denver. We were at our seats to catch Ray Zaragoza's amazing set. We then got blessed by members of the first world nation from that area. Shortly after that, the rain had stopped. The sun went down and the stars came out. Dispatch had that whole place moving. Every song sounded like they were written for that place. The band was so tight and the crowd was into everything happening on stage. The sing-alongs were such an amazing, collective vibe. It was spiritual and elevated my soul. A feeling I still carry with me.
