I came across Brad's charity Love Light and Melody in 2017 after becoming a fan of Dispatch. When looking into the charity I remember coming across Ileana and her story with my daughter who was 10 at the time. I remember thinking I wished there was something I could do to contribute to the mission to build a school for the community in Nicaragua. I decided as a stay at home mom with 2 kids what I had was time and energy….I was already into distance running and decided to train and run The Dallas Marathon to raise money for Love Light and Melody - after training for 4 months with Dispatch in my ears through long, hard, tired, and painful miles training…..I did it. I raised $4000 and completed 26.2 miles for Ileana. A few days before the race I got to meet Brad and Chad after the show at the Kessler and give Brad a check made out to Love Light and Melody for exactly $4000. It was such a gift and an honor. Since then being a part of The Dispatch community has brought me and my family so much joy over the past almost 10 years…..we have seen the band so many times with our kids and it has created so many core family memories.
